Kottonmouth
Kings Interview
- Your new album (in stores now) is called, “The
Green Album,” how would you recommend
that people go green?
Every body needs to
take personal inventory and responsibility
for their own actions, every little gesture
big or small helps.
- What’s your favorite track on the
new record?
Creating songs and
giving birth to ideas is like having children,
they all have unique qualities that make
them special, with that being said “pack your bowls” and “superhero “are
a couple faves.
- For people who have never experienced
the Kottonmouth King’s live, what’s
a show like?
It is like the sex
pistols crashing full speed into NWA who
stole the Grateful Dead’s
tour bus resulting in an orgasmic, cannabis
induced free for all.
- Got any new artists on Suburban Noize
that we should be looking out for?
Look
out for “La Coka Nostra” a
group made up of Everlast, DJ Lethal and
Danny Boy of House of Pain with Ill Bill
and Slain rounding out the roster. Also
lookout for Hed PE’s new record.
- Johnny Richter, what's so funny?
Don't worry about
it!! That’s
my other go to line.
- How did you celebrate after being named
High Time's "Band of the Year" in
2006?
We flew to Amsterdam
and hosted the Cannabis Cup. I think
I am still high from that trip.
- Did you honestly think we'd make it through
the interview without at least one question
about weed?
I hope not.
- Is there ever a time you should NOT smoke
weed?
When you are getting pulled over, sleeping
or around children.
- What’s the best cure for the munchies?
A
couple bucks and a good convenient store.
- Listener Question: 'For Richter
or D-Loc:
What inspired the spade logo for SRH and
Kingspade? Also, why have KMK or
Kingspade never made a stop in Peoria?
We have been to Peoria
and plan on coming back this year. We hope to be back soon. The
SRH crew designed the SRH logo back in the
day before we were a group and tattoo artist
Ben Corn designed Kings Spade logo. We
just wanted a logo that represented us.
